Just 6.5 kilometres from the Beechworth Post Office in Victoria's High Country, Baarmutha Wines is the passion project of Vinny and Sharon Webb — a true labour of love since 2006.
From Oenology and Viticulture studies at Charles Sturt University to hand-planting their low-yielding vineyard, every step has been personal. They manage everything themselves — hand-weeding, mulching, nurturing the vines, and harvesting by hand with the help of family and friends.
In the cellar, they follow Old World principles: wild ferments, minimal intervention, and slow aging underground. The result is small-batch, artisan wines that speak to the soul of Beechworth's renowned terroir.
Visitors are welcomed into their beautifully restored Goldfields-era building — a blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Tastings are personal, often hosted by Vinny and Sharon themselves, and may include underground barrel tastings and insights into years of wine development. Add in a taste of their homemade salami, and you've got a truly unforgettable wine experience.
Plan your visit to Baarmutha for an authentic, down-to-earth tasting that goes beyond the glass — and into the heart of real winemaking.
