Rufous Whistler is the moniker of folkster and songwriter Vinny Russell, who has roots in Northeast Victoria (Wiradjuri Country). Known for his campfire-glow voice and instrumental skill, Russell (guitar, bouzouki, mandolin) steps into the limelight with Rufous Whistler, where his songwriting comes to life on this debut release and tour with the help of a talented ensemble of friends. The lineup features Steven Hornby (double bass), Lucy McKenzie-McHarg (fiddle, mandolin), and Dylan Knur (mandolin, fiddle, banjo).
